VI. Courses Summary description
Creating multimedia projects using PowerPoint, website authoring and video editing software.
VII. Course Objectives
A. Incorporate advanced features in creating PowerPoint presentations
B. Incorporate advanced features in creating a website
C. Use basic video editing techniques to create videos
D. Create a major project that is used outside of this course.
A. Website Design (7 weeks)
B. Video Editing (7 weeks)
C. PowerPoint (4 weeks)
IX. Evaluation procedures
A. Grading scale - Per school guidelines in Parent-Student Handbook
B. Late Work – Projects will be graded “as is” on the date it is due
C. Daily Assignments - Take notes and observe demonstrations and projects
D. Tests and quizzes - Open note tests and quizzes for first three units
E. Semester exams – Final Exam Project in creating a Website and video editing.
F. Participation Grade –Using class time to work on projects
G. Cheating/Plagiarism –Students need to submit work only they have completed. Renaming a file or
copying and pasting code from another person’s project will result in no credit for the project.
Continued cheating and copying will result in failure for the course.
X. Classroom Expectations
A. Take accurate notes and work on projects without disturbing classmates
B. Do not access programs or websites that are NOT connected with the lesson
C. Follow class guidelines for using materials under copyright
XI. Materials
Notebook and USB flash drive - It would be helpful to have MS Office and Internet access at home.
The entire course involves using computers, MS PowerPoint, video editing software, and website design and programming.
